On 14&15 March, two teachers of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Ms. Ho Thi Hien and Ms. Nguyen Thi Diem Thi had great honor to attend the conference STEMCON 2019 hosted by the Arizona State University in Da Nang.
This is the premier conference for successful STEM contributors throughout Southeast Asia to collaborate, connect, share best practices and make an innovative change for teaching and learning for the future. This year the theme of STEMCON is The Future Digital Workforce: Implications and Opportunities in STEM.
Ms. Ho Thi Hiền, Ms. Nguyen Thi Diem Thi and Dr. Pham Tran Bich Thuan have been carrying out a project named “ Applying the Flipped Classroom Methodology through an LMS”. The project aims at applying new teaching methodology, the flipped classroom, to earn more time for in-class practice and encourage students’ self-studying in Speaking courses.
The two-day conference was a great opportunity for Ms. Hien and Ms. Thi to learn valuable techniques for teaching innovation through different scholars and lecturers from big universities and educational organizations in Vietnam and the Southeast Asia. They also had a chance to present their project at the conference. This is the first time that representatives of the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the Industrial University of Hochiminh city have had an opportunity to share their project and introduce their teaching activities at such a big conference.
Here are some photos taken at the conference.
